Connect

Creating a secure connection to the business process and data encapsulated in your mainframe systems is critical. OpenConnect can provide the appropriate solution to your mainframe integration needs, whether it’s CICS or IMS, Z/OS, 390 or VSE, OpenConnect can configure a solution to meet your specific requirements.

OpenConnect supports mainframe integration to the screen logic, direct transactional integration, and direct integration to mainframe data sources. All of these integration options support your integration efforts, providing standard APIs from your mainframe into your Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), as either standard J2EE objects (EJBs and resource adapters), . NET callable XML objects, supported by SOAP wrappers, as well as HTTP and MQ Series interfaces.

Security is not a secondary consideration; soaConnect was designed with security as a first priority, and provides complete security. End to end data encryption, as well as authentication and service availability control form the basis for security for any organizations most prized data assets.

Connect comes in three different options:

  • cdiConnect provides an on-host deployment to access CICS transactions and application logic without screen-scraping.
  • sliConnect provides a completely non-invasive, off host access for any mainframe application, CICS/IMS or anything that communicates via TN3270.
  • sqlConnect enables your enterprise data to become a single SQL datasource to create powerful data services in your SOA.

"Most large enterprises will continue to have J2EE and .NET platforms in their portfolios, they must decide to integrate these traditional mainframe systems into their enterprise architectures. A service-oriented approach - particularly using Web Services - provides a mechanism to integrate these applications with either platform, since they both can consume Web Services."
