OpenConnect CTO To Speak on SOA and Mainframes at Dallas Chamber Event

DALLAS - June 18, 2007 - OpenConnect Systems, an industry leader in discovering business processes inefficiencies, today announced that Stuart Burris, CTO of OpenConnect Systems, will present with IBM on the topic of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) at the upcoming Dallas Technology Business Council’s CTO/CIO Forum. The Forum takes place June 20 at 4:30 p.m. at the Park City Club.

Organizations typically implement SOA projects to gain the most productivity and cost savings out of existing applications, many of which still reside on the mainframe. Using automated process discovery to find hidden variables impacting business processes helps create a streamlined SOA at a lower cost than manual survey methods. The automated model not only highlights application interactions inside the processes, but also when and why these interactions are taking place, at what point they are changing, and why that change is occurring.

The Technology Business Council, a division of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce, invited Burris and a representative from IBM to educate members on best practices for SOA deployments. This joint session with OpenConnect and IBM will demonstrate how understanding business processes within your mainframe applications will deliver greater ROI following SOA enablement. Participants will also walk away with information on the processes and tools for creating valuable, purpose-driven SOA applications.

“Using an automated method of business process discovery to jump-start SOA projects is a great way to repurpose existing applications,” said Ed Peters, CEO of OpenConnect. “The presentation at the Council with IBM allows two recognized leaders in SOA to provide a step-by-step approach to Council members as they look to update their legacy systems.

In addition to the session at the CTO Forum, OpenConnect is announcing the availability of a Webinar session “Mainframe + SOA…simplified.” The Webinar is a condensed version of the live educational seminars that OpenConnect conducted in March with Software AG and IBM. It is available for download on the OpenConnect Web site or by clicking here.
