Dr. Guido Dedene, Professor with K.U. Leuven To Discuss Process Discovery and Improvement at INFORMS Annual Meeting

DALLAS - October 25, 2007 - OpenConnect Systems, an industry leader in discovering business processes inefficiencies, today announced that Professor Dr. Guido Dedene, will present “A Hybrid Approach to Process Discovery and Improvement” at the annual meeting for the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS).

Business process discovery is the next step to better business intelligence. Process discovery involves cataloging and understanding all of the processes of an organization – including those associated with technology and people, as well as how these are interrelated. By thoroughly analyzing these processes, organizations can make incremental improvements that will lead to significant cost savings.

OpenConnect has partnered with Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (K.U. Leuven, Belgium), to research new mathematical and scientific methods for discovering and analyzing organization processes to gain a better understanding of how the analysis of organizational processing must evolve. Dr. Dedene has been on faculty with the K.U. Leuven, Belgium for more than 20 years and currently chairs the business process discovery research for OpenConnect. He has published more than 50 articles on technology management, capacity planning and strategic business. Dr. Dedene also holds faculty positions with the Amsterdam Business School in the Netherlands and the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School in Belgium.

The INFORMS Annual Meeting takes place November 4-7 in Seattle, Washington. It is designed as a discussion forum for advances in technology and operational research.
