- User rights — You have the right to access, view, and edit in a timely manner any information that OpenConnect may be storing on you as a result of your visits to our website or blog (“your personal information”). You have the right to have your personal information erased from our records, if you so request, so long as we are not legally required to retain your personal information and we are not continuing an ongoing business relationship. You have the right to make changes to your personal information. You have the right to object to receiving direct marketing messages and advertisements from OpenConnect. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, contact OpenConnect at email@example.com and explain the nature of your request. We will respond to your request within 30 calendar days.
- Data retention — We will retain your personal information for as long as you have business with OpenConnect, including any ongoing service we may be providing. Once we have deleted your personal information upon your request, we will not retain it for any length of time unless required otherwise by law. - Opting out of marketing messages and targeted advertising — OpenConnect’s direct marketing and advertising is accomplished by emails that always include links allowing you to opt out from receiving further such communications. If you have questions about the effectiveness of this method, contact OpenConnect at email@example.com. If you are an OpenConnect customer, we may continue to contact you regarding the products and service you are receiving from us; one example would be if there is an update to any OpenConnect software product for which you have licensing.
We require customers who register on our site to give us contact information such as their name, company name, address, phone number, and email address. At the time you express interest in attaining additional information, or when you register, we may also ask for additional personal information such as title, department name, fax number, or additional company information (e.g., annual revenues, number of employees, or industry). Customers can opt out of providing this additional information by not entering it when asked.
OpenConnect uses the information that we collect to contact customers to further discuss customer interest in our company, the services that we provide, and to send information regarding our company or partners, such as promotions and events. Customer email addresses and any personal customer information will not be distributed or shared with any third parties. Customers can opt out of being contacted by us, or receiving such information from us, at any time by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We may also email information regarding updates to our products or company. Again, email will not be distributed or shared, and customers can opt out of receiving any communication by emailing email@example.com at the time the email is distributed.
When you interact with any part of the OpenConnect Web presence, we strive to make that experience easy and meaningful. When you come to our site, our Web server sends a cookie to your computer. Cookies are files that your Web browser places on your computer’s hard drive, and are used to tell us whether customers and visitors have previously visited our Site.
By themselves, cookies do not identify you personally; they merely recognize your browser. Unless you choose to identify yourself to OpenConnect — by responding to a promotional offer, opening an account, or registering for a 30-day test drive of one of our solutions — you remain anonymous to OpenConnect. Cookies come in two “flavors”: session and persistent. Session cookies exist only during an online session, disappearing from your computer when you close your browser software or turn off your computer. Persistent cookies remain on your computer after you’ve closed your browser or turned off your computer, and include such information as a unique identifier for your browser.
OpenConnect uses session cookies containing encrypted or encoded information, including your username and session ID. This information allows OpenConnect to process your online transactions and requests. Session cookies help us make sure you are who you say you are after you’ve logged in and are required in order to use the OpenConnect application. OpenConnect uses persistent cookies, which only OpenConnect can read and use, to identify the fact that you are a OpenConnect customer or prior OpenConnect website visitor (as the case may be). We are especially careful about the security and confidentiality of the information stored in persistent cookies. For example, we do not store account numbers or passwords in persistent cookies. Users who disable their Web browsers’ ability to accept cookies will be able to browse our website (but will not be able to successfully use our service).
The OpenConnect Web presence contains links to other websites. OpenConnect is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other websites. Customers and visitors must check the policy statements of these other websites to understand their policies. Customers and visitors who access a linked site may be disclosing their private information. It is the responsibility of the user to keep such information private and confidential.
Our Web presence has security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the data under our control. When our site is accessed by browsers, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects information using both server authentication and data encryption, to help ensure that data is safe, secure, and available only to you. OpenConnect also implements an advanced security method based on dynamic data and encoded session identifications, and hosts the site in a secure server environment that uses a firewall and other advanced technology to prevent interference or access from outside intruders. Finally, OpenConnect provides unique usernames and passwords that must be entered each time a customer logs on. These safeguards help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of data.
OpenConnect offers its visitors and customers a means to choose how we may use information provided. If, at any time after registering for information, you change your mind about receiving information from us, please specify your new choice by sending your request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
